The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers a budget-friendly option with moderate storage, a basic processor, and integrated graphics suitable for everyday tasks and good portability. It has a touchscreen and a decent battery life, but might not perform well for intensive tasks or gaming. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i, while more expensive, offers high performance with a powerful processor, advanced graphics, and substantial storage, aimed at demanding engineering, 3D rendering, and gaming. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, which impacts portability. Decide based on whether you prioritize cost and portability or performance for specialized tasks. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 delivers adequate brightness and resolution for tasks like web browsing and document editing, but lacks the vibrant color range needed for engineering and design work, and has a lower refresh rate, reducing its appeal for smooth 3D graphics and gaming. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i offers a high-quality display with strong brightness and resolution enhancing the experience for daily tasks and providing a solid base for engineering and design applications, though it falls short in refresh rate for the fluidity desired in high-speed gaming or advanced 3D modeling. Despite their strengths for specific tasks, both models do not fully cater to gaming and 3D needs due to their refresh rate limitations.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
