The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is generally less expensive, lighter, and offers a touchscreen with a 2-in-1 feature, making it potentially more versatile for mobile use or presentations. However, it comes with less storage, a less powerful processor, and may not perform as well for more intensive tasks. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i, while slightly heavier and more expensive, provides a larger screen, more storage, superior processing power, and better performance for demanding applications such as engineering software, 3D modeling, or machine learning, although it lacks a touchscreen. Both laptops have similar battery lives but different strengths; your choice should consider whether you prioritize portability and cost (Acer) or performance and storage (Lenovo). Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is less suitable for engineering and design due to its lower-end CPU and GPU (Intel i3-N305 with UHD Graphics Xe), less RAM, and a lower screen brightness, which may not handle intensive tasks as efficiently as desired and may display colors less vividly. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i, on the other hand, offers a superior CPU and GPU (Intel i5-1335U with Iris Xe), more RAM, and a brighter screen, all of which contribute to better performance and a more vibrant display suitable for more demanding engineering and design applications.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i offer screens with suitable resolution and brightness, but they might not provide the vividness or sharpness preferred by more discerning users. In tasks like engineering and design, professionals require accurate color reproduction, and the fair screen quality of these laptops means colors may not be as precise or consistent as needed for professional-level work. When it comes to gaming or working with 3D content, the importance of refresh rate signifies a smoother visual experience, which these laptops don't deliver as well as models designed specifically for such purposes.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The device is made for average work loads and if your work has a lot to do with online browsing, using apps that are not power-hungry and streaming videos. The looks are really good and the device in itself is not a heavy one. And with Intel 11th-gen Core processor, you might sail through most of your work without complaints."
