The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is suitable if you're seeking a budget-friendly laptop with a touch screen and long battery life for everyday tasks; however, it has limited storage and a basic processor. In contrast, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is more expensive and has a higher-performance processor and graphics card suitable for gaming, engineering, and 3D tasks, along with a larger, higher-quality display, but is heavier and less portable. So, if cost and portability are priorities, the Acer might suit you, but if you need more power for intensive tasks and better gaming capabilities, consider the Gigabyte. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for engineering and design use because it has a high-end CPU, double the RAM, a powerful dedicated GPU, and superior screen quality compared to the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 which has a lower-tier CPU, half the RAM, integrated graphics, and a less impressive screen. However, the Acer offers better portability due to its lighter weight and convertible 2-in-1 design, but for heavy-duty tasks like 3D modeling or complex computations, the Gigabyte's hardware advantages make it a better choice despite being heavier and less portable.

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with a bright, high-resolution screen makes activities like browsing and watching videos more comfortable, which is why the Gigabyte's very good screen quality stands out; the Acer, while fair, might have lower brightness or resolution, impacting the sharpness and viewability of content. Engineering and design professionals need accurate colors for their work, so the Gigabyte's good color range can display a wider spectrum needed for precise design tasks, whereas the Acer's fair quality may not be as vivid or true-to-life. Gamers and 3D artists require smooth motion and high detail, and the poor refresh rates on both laptops mean less fluid visuals, with the Acer additionally hampered by its lower resolution or inferior panel affecting clarity and immersion.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
