If you prioritize a larger screen and lower cost, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is a suitable option that has a longer battery life and quiet operation due to its fanless design but comes with a more modest performance which may not be optimal for intensive tasks. The Framework Laptop 13, on the other hand, is more expensive but offers better build quality, performance, and higher screen resolution which is ideal for engineering or creative work. It also includes a higher quality webcam and speakers, making it a good fit for video conferencing and multimedia, although it has a slightly shorter battery life compared to the Acer. Give Feedback

The Framework Laptop 13 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14's fair screen quality for general use is due to its adequate resolution and brightness, which are sufficient for everyday tasks but may lack the clarity and vibrancy found in higher-end panels. For engineering and design, its fair quality stems from modest color coverage that doesn't fully meet the precision required for professional color work. The poor quality for gaming and 3D applications is largely because the laptop's refresh rate isn't high enough for smooth motion, which is crucial for fast-paced visuals and rendering.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"If you’re thinking of investing in your first Framework, now is the time. The kinks and rough edges have all been smoothed out and this is a very nice machine with a bright, upgradable future. The only reason I can think of to wait is the AMD model, which I’ll be sure to test as soon as I can get my hands on one."
