The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 outperforms the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 in engineering and design use mainly due to its superior Intel i5 processor, double the RAM, and a more powerful integrated GPU, which are crucial for such tasks. While both have quality IPS screens with the same resolution, the Dell's larger screen size and higher brightness provide better visual clarity, but it is slightly heavier and less portable than the lightweight Acer, making the Dell better suited to workstation use rather than on-the-go productivity.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize an affordable laptop for everyday tasks like browsing and productivity software, both the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 can suffice with their screens providing adequate resolution and brightness. How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"If the world is exciting enough right now, you can do far worse than a solid performer that you know will get the job done. Our review model is as powerful as you'd want an office machine to be unless you're performing specialist tasks and the price point is pretty attractive (unless work will let you have a MacBook Air instead)."
