The ASUS TUF Dash 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14's gaming and 3D performance is limited by its integrated Intel UHD Graphics Xe and a screen refresh rate of just 60Hz, which is fair for casual gaming but not as immersive or fluid for fast-paced games or intensive 3D applications. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Dash 15 boasts a much more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU along with a higher screen refresh rate of 144Hz, making it well-suited for demanding gaming and 3D tasks with smoother visuals and better overall performance.

The ASUS TUF Dash 15 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, with its Intel i3 processor and integrated graphics, offers enough power for basic engineering and design tasks, but the ASUS TUF Dash 15's more robust Intel i7 processor and dedicated Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card make it more suited for demanding engineering software and complex design work. Additionally, while the Acer's 2-in-1 convertible design and fanless operation enhance its portability and noiselessness, the ASUS's superior screen quality, along with additional RAM and storage, provide an overall better performance for engineering and design applications.

The ASUS TUF Dash 15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a sharp and bright display for everyday tasks, the ASUS TUF Dash 15 with its higher resolution is a better choice compared to the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, especially when it comes to reading text and viewing images. For engineering and design, where accurate color reproduction is key, the ASUS with its superior color coverage will be more reliable for professional work that demands color precision. However, neither is ideal for gaming and 3D applications; while resolution and panel quality matter, the lack of high refresh rates will hamper the smoothness and responsiveness that games and 3D rendering require.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the ASUS TUF Dash 15 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Asus TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR is a laptop with mobile RTX 3070 and acceptable battery life. The Asus TUF Dash F15 was made for high-performance applications like video editing, rendering, and gaming. The laptop can manage the latter in QHD resolution and at high to maximum settings. However, the focus isn't on maximum performance, but instead, it's about a compromise between performance and portability."
