The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is less expensive and may suit budget-conscious customers, with decent screen size and resolution for general use, but limited storage and performance that may not handle intensive tasks effectively. The ASUS ROG Flow X13, on the other hand, is more expensive and suitable for high-end gaming, with a great processor and graphics card; however, it also has a higher price tag, and its more compact size may affect its suitability for long hours of work or multitasking. The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 provides a fair general use experience with its basic Intel i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, which might be adequate for everyday tasks but less so for more demanding applications, whereas the ASUS ROG Flow X13 offers very good general use performance thanks to its more powerful AMD Ryzen 9 processor, 16GB of RAM, and superior screen quality, making it well-equipped for intensive multitasking and a richer visual experience. The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 scores higher in portability due to its lower weight and slightly larger screen, but the ASUS ROG Flow X13's significantly longer battery life and better build, including superior keyboard and speaker quality, make it a more robust choice for extended use away from power sources.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is equipped with a basic CPU and integrated graphics, suitable for lighter engineering tasks and its fair keyboard and speaker quality reflect its focus on cost efficiency over performance. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Flow X13 boasts a high-end CPU and dedicated GPU, as well as superior screen quality, ensuring it excels in demanding engineering and design applications, but with this enhanced performance comes a higher price and potentially more operating noise.

The ASUS ROG Flow X13 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers adequate clarity and brightness, but its resolution and panel type might not be as crisp or vibrant as the ASUS ROG Flow X13, which provides sharper images and more vivid colors thanks to its superior panel and higher resolution. When it comes to engineering and design, the ASUS ROG Flow X13 excels with its wider color gamut coverage, ensuring accurate color representation essential for professional work, while the Acer's color range is more limited, making it less ideal for precision tasks. In contrast, both struggle in the 3D and gaming arena due to low refresh rates, but the ASUS might handle these tasks slightly better given its somewhat better resolution and panel technology, despite neither being optimized for high-frame-rate experiences.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Asus ROG Flow X13 is not an off-the-shelf convertible. This quickly becomes clear when you take a closer look at the technical specs. The AMD Ryzen 9 5980HS is a state-of-the-art SoC with 8 cores and 16 threads, which also makes the 2-in-1 interesting as a work device. With 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, gamers are also well taken care of. The dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q fits well into the overall concept and ensures a solid 3D performance. With the eGPU dock, which is equipped with a GeForce RTX 3080, the small convertible transforms into a full-fledged desktop replacement in terms of performance."
