If price is a primary concern, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is significantly less expensive and still offers a flexible 2-in-1 design suitable for general use. However, the Acer Swift X (2022) has a stronger processor and dedicated graphics card, making it more suited for tasks such as 3D work, machine learning, or gaming. The Swift X also has a higher resolution display and is slightly lighter, enhancing portability and screen clarity. Each of these advantages comes at the expense of being more expensive. The Aspire 3 Spin 14 will be more budget-friendly but won't match the performance of the Swift X. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X (2022) is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is only fair.
The Acer Swift X (2022) is considered better for general use because it comes with a higher-performing CPU and more RAM, which contribute to faster and smoother operation, plus it has a superior screen with better brightness and color coverage that enhance visual experience. While the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers flexibility as a 2-in-1 device and silent operation due to its fanless design, its lower-tier CPU and less RAM, as well as a less impressive screen, make it fair for general use but less capable for demanding tasks.

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers a suitable display for general tasks with adequate resolution and brightness, but its panel type limits its color accuracy, affecting performance for engineering and design work. The Acer Swift X steps up with a sharper display, providing more accurate colors that benefit engineering and design applications; however, it isn’t optimized for gaming or 3D modeling due to its standard refresh rate. Both laptops lack the high refresh rates desirable for smooth gaming and 3D rendering, making them less ideal for those specific activities.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
