If you prefer a laptop that is more budget-friendly, easily portable and offers long battery life for less demanding tasks, the Acer Aspire 3 15 is a suitable choice. However, for those who require a powerful machine for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering work, and are willing to invest in a high-end laptop with superior performance and a larger, higher-quality display, the MSI Raider GE78 would be appropriate, albeit it comes with a higher price tag, increased weight, and reduced battery life compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15. The MSI Raider GE78 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is suitable for general use with adequate processing power, memory, and full HD screen, and it's lighter for better portability and longer battery life, but may struggle with more intensive tasks. The MSI Raider GE78, on the other hand, offers top-end CPU and graphics performance, a higher resolution and refresh rate display with better color coverage, and more memory, ideal for demanding applications and multitasking, but it is heavier and has shorter battery life, making it less portable.

The MSI Raider GE78 is best in class for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The MSI Raider GE78 excels in gaming and 3D due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU and high screen refresh rate, which provides smoother visuals and better rendering performance in comparison to the Acer Aspire 3 15, which has a modest AMD Radeon 610M GPU and a standard screen refresh rate. Additionally, the MSI's superior CPU and screen quality contribute to a more immersive gaming and 3D experience versus the Acer Aspire 3 15's lower-tier components in these areas.

The MSI Raider GE78 is excellent for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 provides modest engineering and design capabilities with limited RAM and a lower-tier CPU and GPU, along with an adequate display, while the MSI Raider GE78 offers superior performance due to its high-end CPU, substantial RAM, top-tier GPU, and a higher quality display which makes it excellent for demanding engineering tasks, albeit with reduced portability and a heftier build. The Acer may be more suited for lighter tasks and is more portable and quieter, while the MSI excels in more intensive scenarios but is bulkier and might have more operating noise.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 15 provides adequate resolution and brightness, but doesn't stand out, while the MSI Raider GE78 offers higher resolution and brightness, making it a better but more costly option. In tasks requiring color precision like engineering and design, the GE78 excels due to wider color gamuts, offering richer and more accurate color display, which the Aspire 3 doesn't match. However, for 3D tasks and gaming, the MSI's display falls short due to a lower refresh rate, which hinders smooth visuals, despite its good resolution and panel technology.

"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
