The MSI Prestige 16 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 has a modest CPU and RAM, a standard quality screen, and a lower storage capacity, which makes it fair for general use, and it benefits from good portability and battery life. In contrast, the MSI Prestige 16 offers a higher-performance CPU and substantially more RAM, a high-resolution, color-accurate screen, and considerably more storage, making it very good for general use, but these features come with a tradeoff in battery life and a slight increase in weight.

The MSI Prestige 16 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The MSI Prestige 16 offers superior gaming and 3D performance primarily because it has a higher refresh rate screen and a more powerful GPU compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15, which has a standard refresh rate and a less capable GPU, making it just fair for the same tasks. Despite this, the Acer Aspire 3 15 may appeal to those who prioritize a lower price or portability, with its lighter weight and adequate performance for less demanding games or 3D applications.

The MSI Prestige 16 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The MSI Prestige 16 stands out for engineering and design use with its higher RAM capacity, more powerful Intel i7 processor, and superior Intel Iris Xe graphics, alongside a higher resolution screen which results in sharper details, compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15 that offers lower RAM, a less powerful AMD Ryzen 3 processor, and a modest AMD Radeon GPU which, despite having a solid screen, could limit performance in demanding tasks. Although the Acer is lighter which may be advantageous for portability, the MSI's overall hardware capabilities and screen quality make it better suited for intensive engineering and design work.

The MSI Prestige 16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15's screen may suffice for tasks like browsing and document editing due to its adequate resolution and brightness, but it lacks the color fidelity needed for engineering applications and the lower refresh rate detracts from the immersive experience required for gaming and 3D work. The MSI Prestige 16, with its higher resolution and brightness, offers crisp and vibrant imagery beneficial for both everyday tasks and detailed engineering designs, but still falls short for gaming and 3D modeling due to its lower refresh rate compared to specialized gaming laptops. Essentially, while both laptops present clear and bright displays for casual and professional tasks, neither is optimized for the high refresh rates crucial for gaming and 3D rendering experiences.

"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The MSI Prestige 16 Evo: 2023's best value 16” thin & light laptop with i7-13700H. One of the top choices for professionals and students seeking a high-performance, portable computing solution in 2023. While the MSI Prestige 16 Evo A13M may not boast the most striking design compared to some other 16" options, its relatively "safe" styling lends itself well to professional and educational environments. Significantly, it doesn't compromise on essential features like port selection or cooling performance, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient thermal management. The 16 Evo A13M offers an excellent combination of performance, portability, and functionality, making it a compelling choice for professionals and students alike."
