When choosing between the Acer Aspire 3 and the MSI Prestige 13, consider that the Acer might be more budget-friendly but often has lower performance capabilities compared to the MSI, which may offer higher processing power for tasks like video editing or design work. The MSI is also likely more portable due to its smaller size, potentially making it a better option for those who travel frequently. Battery life could be superior on the MSI too, which is beneficial for long work sessions away from a power outlet, while the Acer might offer a larger screen, which is great for multitasking and entertainment. The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 has an adequate GPU for entry-level gaming and 3D tasks but might not handle high refresh rates, which could affect the smoothness of fast-paced games, while its screen quality is decent for the price. On the other hand, the MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo, despite being more portable and with possibly a better CPU, also comes with limitations on the GPU and refresh rate, making it suitable for casual gaming and basic 3D work, not for the most demanding tasks.

The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15's screen quality suffices for basic tasks due to adequate resolution and brightness but falls short for gaming and 3D because of its lower refresh rate, impacting the smoothness of motion. The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo's very good screen quality for general use and engineering stems from its high resolution, brightness, and wide color gamut coverage, rendering it excellent for detail and color-critical work. However, its limitations for gaming and 3D are due to a refresh rate that doesn't cater to high-frame rate needs, which is less crucial for general computing and engineering tasks.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
