If affordability is a significant concern and general use is your primary need, the Acer Aspire 3 15 may suit you well. However, if portability and a lighter design are important, especially for travel or commuting, and you have a flexible budget, the LG Ultra 13 is more convenient to carry. The LG Ultra 13 typically offers better battery life, which is valuable for long days without access to power. For tasks that demand higher performance, like 3D modeling or intensive multitasking, if you can invest more, the LG often has higher-end specifications that accommodate such demands more efficiently than the Acer. On the other hand, for casual gaming or less resource-intensive engineering software, the Acer might be sufficient. Keep in mind, though, gaming and engineering tasks may not run as smoothly on the Acer compared to more powerful and expensive laptops. Give Feedback

The LG Ultra 13 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, with an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and 8 GB of RAM, offers satisfactory performance for routine tasks, but its lower screen quality and battery capacity make it just fair for general use, while the more compact and lightweight LG Ultra 13 is equipped with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor and double the RAM, contributing to better performance; its superior battery life and screen quality, including brightness and color coverage, make it a good choice for more demanding general-use scenarios.

The LG Ultra 13 is only fair for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 with an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and AMD Radeon 610M graphics card offers modest performance for engineering and design tasks, while its larger 15.6-inch screen provides an acceptable quality display which is beneficial for detailed work, but it may be less portable due to its size and weight. In comparison, the LG Ultra 13 with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor and integrated Vega 7 graphics supports better performance for computational tasks, and its smaller 13.3-inch display, though offering higher screen clarity and better color reproduction, compromises on screen real estate which might be less ideal for design work, but gains in portability thanks to its lighter weight and smaller dimensions.

The LG Ultra 13 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop like the Acer Aspire 3 15 with a fair screen offers sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks such as browsing and video streaming, while the LG Ultra 13's good quality screen offers improved clarity and visibility under different lighting conditions. In engineering and design, where precise color representation is key, the LG Ultra 13's better coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB ensures more accurate color rendering compared to the Acer Aspire 3 15. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both the Acer Aspire 3 15 and LG Ultra 13 fall short due to their poor refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion and a less immersive experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers LG Ultra 13 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 and the LG Ultra 13 are considered fair for gaming and 3D tasks due to their respective GPU capabilities, which offer basic but limited graphics performance, and both having standard screen refresh rates that are acceptable for light gaming but not optimal for high-frame-rate experiences. Additionally, while the LG Ultra 13's more powerful CPU and higher screen quality provide some advantage in processing power and display clarity over the Acer, neither is equipped with top-tier gaming hardware that would significantly boost their gaming and 3D performance.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the LG Ultra 13 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The 13.3-inch LG Gram is a fine fit if you need to travel as light as possible for as long as possible without spending a fortune to do it. It might not be particularly sturdy or have an eye-catching design and its webcam is less than ideal, but with its sharp touch display, comfortable backlit keyboard, responsive touchpad and a fingerprint reader for extra security, the Gram makes a respectible everyday laptop for business or school work."
