The Acer Aspire 3 15 is less expensive and offers a budget-friendly option with a larger screen, but it has less storage, memory, and a less powerful processor than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro. The Aspire 3 would be suitable for basic general use given its larger screen and number pad on the keyboard, while the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, with its higher resolution touchscreen, better processor, more storage, and memory, excels in tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and is also suitable for more demanding engineering applications. If you need a more portable laptop, the Slim 7i Pro is lighter and thinner; however, the Acer Aspire 3 has a longer battery life. If superior performance and portability are a priority and you're willing to invest more, the Slim 7i Pro is the better choice, otherwise for general everyday tasks at a more affordable price, the Acer Aspire 3 should suffice. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15's screen quality is suitable for general use due to its decent resolution and brightness, but it may not satisfy demanding engineering and design tasks because it lacks extensive color gamut coverage. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro's higher resolution and brightness, along with better color gamut coverage, make it a superior choice for engineering and design work. However, both laptops' screens fall short for gaming and 3D due to modest refresh rates that don't match the smoother visuals required for these applications.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
