If you are prioritizing storage space and a touchscreen, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is a better option, as it offers more internal storage and a touchscreen display. However, the Acer Aspire 3 might cost slightly less and offers similar performance for general use, with a comparable display and battery life. Both are budget-friendly and similar in weight and size, but neither is particularly suited for intensive engineering tasks or gaming. If you need a machine for day-to-day use with better portability and battery life, the IdeaPad Slim 3 may have an edge. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use.
If you prioritize general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offer screens that are adequate in resolution and brightness but may not be the crispest or brightest available. For engineering and design tasks where color accuracy is key, the fair rating indicates these laptops have limited coverage of professional color spaces, which may not satisfy those who need precise color representation. In the realm of gaming and 3D applications, these laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates which can affect the smoothness and responsiveness of gameplay and 3D rendering.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 to be good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 are both marked as 'fair' for general use largely due to their modest CPU, sufficient RAM for everyday tasks, and quality IPS screens with decent resolution, although neither are standout performers in the color gamut coverage which affects screen quality. The Acer provides solid battery life and silent operation, but less internal storage compared to the Lenovo, which offers a larger storage capacity and slightly better battery life, but with a similar screen size and panel type, these laptops are closely matched for typical use.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and Acer Aspire 3 15 are both poor for gaming and AI.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 have entry-level GPUs, with the Acer featuring an AMD Radeon 610M and the Lenovo using an integrated Vega 6 graphics solution, which are adequate for casual gaming and basic 3D tasks but may not provide the smoothest experience in more demanding games due to their moderate graphical power and standard screen refresh rates of 60Hz. Both laptops have reasonably good CPUs and satisfactory screen quality with 1080p resolution, but enthusiasts seeking high refresh rates and superior GPU performance for an optimal gaming and 3D rendering experience will find more specialized gaming laptops more fitting to their needs.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
