For general use, the Lenovo IdeaPad offers a higher resolution and brighter display, making it more visually pleasing and easier to read or watch media. In engineering and design, the IdeaPad's display covers a wider range of colors, which is essential for precision in visual work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where refresh rate is crucial for a fluid experience, both laptops fall short as they likely have standard refresh rates that are not ideal for fast-paced visuals.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
