The Acer Aspire 3 is typically much less expensive and offers solid performance for general tasks with good battery life, making it suitable for everyday work and casual use. If you require a laptop for high-end gaming, 3D rendering, or intensive engineering software, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X, while more costly, boasts a much more powerful processor and graphics card, substantially better screen resolution and refresh rate, larger storage, and extra features like a backlit keyboard and better build quality, though it is heavier and has a larger power brick, reducing portability. "The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
