For tasks that require performance, the Dell Latitude 14 7490 stands out with a more powerful Intel i7 processor and double the RAM and storage of the Acer Aspire 3 15, which would be beneficial for demanding applications and multitasking. Conversely, the Aspire 3 15 offers silent, fanless operation and a slight edge in battery life, making it a quiet and slightly more enduring option, though with less robust performance due to its AMD Ryzen 3 processor. The Dell also comes with Windows 10 Pro, offering more business features than Windows 11 Home on the Aspire. If portability is vital, note that the Acer is heavier and slightly bulkier than the Dell. For modern connectivity, only the Dell includes USB-C ports, while both have multiple USB connections. Choosing the right laptop depends on prioritizing performance and professional features, which the Dell provides, versus a more silent and lighter option in the Acer. Give Feedback

The Dell Latitude 14 7490 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 and the Dell Latitude offer screens that will be adequate due to their satisfactory resolution and panel types that provide decent clarity and viewability, however, they may lack in brightness. The Dell Latitude stands out for engineering and design because it has better color reproduction, covering a wider color gamut that professionals require for accurate visuals. For gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short as they do not have high refresh rates, leading to less fluid motion, though their resolutions and panel types offer only moderate compensation for these experiences.

The Dell Latitude 14 7490 and Acer Aspire 3 15 are both poor for gaming and AI.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 and Dell Latitude 14 7490, while not gaming-specific laptops, offer discrete graphics options that allow for moderate gaming and 3D applications, but they won't match the performance of dedicated gaming laptops with higher-end GPUs and faster refresh rates. The Latitude's build quality and screen may edge out the Aspire in terms of overall display experience, though both have adequate processors for less demanding tasks.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Latitude 14 7490 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
