For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 15 offers great value at a budget price and is significantly less expensive compared to the Dell Latitude 5430. While the Acer has a larger 15.6-inch screen, the Dell is more portable due to its smaller 14-inch screen and lighter weight. The Dell Latitude has double the storage, longer battery life, and a higher-end Intel processor which might perform better for more intensive tasks. For business and engineering applications, the Dell stands out with better build quality and performance. If portability and higher performance are priorities, consider the Dell though it comes at a higher price. If budget and a larger screen size are more important, the Acer might be the better choice. The Dell Latitude 5430 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 15 and Dell Latitude 5430 provide adequate resolution and brightness, making them suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing, but their screen quality might not stand out for high-definition content consumption. When it comes to engineering and design work, professionals would find their color reproduction acceptable but not ideal for precision work as they lack the wider color gamuts needed for accurate color grading or rendering. In the realm of gaming or running 3D applications, the screens fall short, as they don't offer the high refresh rates that provide smoother motion, although their resolution and panel type offer a basic level of clarity and viewing angles.

The Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Latitude 5430 are both "fair" for gaming and 3D due to their integrated graphics, with the Aspire sporting an AMD Radeon 610M and the Latitude equipped with Intel Iris Xe Graphics, which offer modest gaming performance. Both laptops have a standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz that is typically sufficient for casual gaming, but their CPUs and screen quality, while adequate for everyday tasks, do not reach the higher standards required for intensive gaming or professional-quality 3D work.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Latitude 5430 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
