The Acer Aspire 3 15 is often significantly less expensive than the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 and has a higher battery life, making it suited for lengthy use without charging. However, the Acer has less storage and RAM, and its performance is lower for general use, 3D/machine learning, and engineering tasks. In contrast, the Dell Inspiron offers more storage, more RAM, and better performance across the board, but at a higher cost and with lower battery life. If portability is key, the Acer is slightly lighter. If you prioritize screen real estate and performance for multitasking or demanding applications, the Dell may be a better choice despite being a bit heavier and costlier. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is rated better for general use because it has more storage, double the memory, a slightly better screen with higher resolution and brightness, and superior quality in the keyboard, speaker, and build. While the Acer Aspire 3 15 offers quieter operation and a longer battery life, making it ideal for extended use without access to power, it falls short with a less powerful CPU and less vibrant screen, which may not be suitable for more demanding applications or environments where screen quality is crucial.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 is better suited for engineering and design use due to its higher RAM, which assists in multitasking and complex applications, along with a superior Intel GPU that benefits graphics-heavy tasks; additionally, it offers a higher resolution screen with better brightness and colors, crucial for detailed work. On the other hand, the Acer Aspire 3 15, while still capable, has lower RAM and a less powerful AMD GPU which may struggle with intensive software, and the screen quality, although adequate, doesn’t match the Dell's, which may affect the precision required for design jobs.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 and the Dell Inspiron 16 provide adequate quality, as users typically prioritize a balance between resolution, panel type, and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and office work, where extremely high specifications aren't required. However, in engineering and design, these laptops may fall short for professionals requiring precise color representation, as they lack the wide color gamuts necessary for exact color work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates of these displays can lead to less fluid visuals, which is less optimal for fast-paced action or detailed 3d modeling where smoother transitions are crucial.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inspiron 16 5620 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is limited in gaming and 3D capabilities due to its basic AMD Radeon 610M GPU, which doesn't provide the high performance necessary for intensive tasks, and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate, which is adequate for everyday use but won't deliver the smooth visuals desired in high-frame-rate gaming.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5620 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"If the world is exciting enough right now, you can do far worse than a solid performer that you know will get the job done. Our review model is as powerful as you'd want an office machine to be unless you're performing specialist tasks and the price point is pretty attractive (unless work will let you have a MacBook Air instead)."
