If you require a laptop for high-end tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or if you need a high-quality screen for color-sensitive work, the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is an excellent option because it has a powerful processor, superior graphics capabilities, and a vivid OLED touchscreen with high resolution. However, its higher price, added weight, and lower battery life are tradeoffs. On the other hand, if cost and portability are major concerns and your tasks are more general in nature, the Acer Aspire 3 15 offers a budget-friendly price, satisfactory performance for everyday use, a lighter build, and longer battery life, though it compromises on screen quality and processing power for demanding applications. The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 excels in general use due to its powerful Intel i9 processor, substantial RAM, and high-quality OLED screen, which make multitasking and visual tasks a pleasure, but its heavier weight and shorter battery life can be tradeoffs for those needing portability. In contrast, the Acer Aspire 3 15 offers moderate performance with less RAM and a lower-quality screen, making it adequate for lighter tasks, and its longer battery life and lighter weight support better portability, but it may fall short for more demanding applications.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 offers superior gaming and 3D capabilities due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and its high-quality OLED screen, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is equipped with a more moderate AMD Radeon 610M GPU and an IPS panel, which results in fair performance for such tasks. Although both laptops have the same screen refresh rate, the Advanced GPU and screen quality contribute significantly to the ASUS's very good performance in gaming and 3D applications.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is excellent for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, with a modest processor, graphics card, and screen resolution, is adequate for basic engineering and design tasks, providing good portability and a silent operation that's beneficial in noise-sensitive environments. In contrast, the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 features a high-performance CPU and GPU, an OLED screen with superior resolution, and a much larger RAM and storage space, catering very well to demanding engineering and design applications, though it is heavier and has a more noticeable operating noise.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 15's screen may be sufficient with adequate resolution and brightness, but the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 offers a superior viewing experience with higher resolution and brightness, enhancing everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. In engineering and design, the ASUS stands out with its wide color gamut, displaying more accurate colors, which is crucial for precision work, whereas the Acer's more limited color range may only be suitable for less color-critical tasks. However, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D work due to their lower refresh rates, which means they won't provide as smooth motion as desired in fast-paced visuals or gaming scenarios, despite the ASUS's better resolution and panel type.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Benchmarks aside, the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo is hard to compare with other PCs. Its closest competition may be a multi-monitor desktop, or a laptop with an attached travel monitor. The Pro Duo is more portable and versatile than either of those options, especially with the software tools Asus has thrown on top. For a certain niche of artists, media creators, and gamers, all that might add up to something special, even if it’s unattainable for the rest of us."
