For general use, the Acer Aspire 3 15 is more budget-friendly and offers modest performance with ample battery life, making it a good fit for everyday tasks and light usage. In contrast, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 provides significantly better performance for engineering, 3D work, and machine learning, with a superior GPU and more RAM, alongside an OLED touch display which enhances multimedia and creative work. However, the Zenbook's higher performance comes with a higher price and slightly less portability due to increased weight. If your work involves more intensive tasks and you prefer a higher quality display, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 is a strong choice, otherwise, for casual use and a tighter budget, the Acer Aspire 3 15 will suffice. How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 offers a strong CPU, chassis, and display. One of the most popular 15.6-inch prosumer or multimedia laptops out there is the Dell XPS 15. Thus, comparisons between it and the Asus Zenbook Pro 15 are inevitable. Asus has a couple of tricks up its sleeve that XPS users are still missing out on including 1080p OLED and an AMD Ryzen CPU which help separate the Zenbook Pro 15 from the XPS 15. It also integrates a numpad and a few more port options albeit at the cost of a larger chassis size."
