Choosing between the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 depends on your needs and budget. The Acer is less expensive and has a longer battery life, making it more portable and suitable for general use and tasks that require long battery hours. However, its performance for demanding tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming is more limited due to its less powerful processor and graphics. On the other hand, the ASUS is more expensive but offers significantly better performance for intensive tasks and gaming, thanks to its superior processor and graphics card. It also has a better screen for fast-motion content and more RAM and storage, but it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, reducing its portability. If you prioritize performance and gaming capabilities, the ASUS might be the better choice, while the Acer is suitable for budget-conscious users requiring a device for everyday tasks. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is equipped with a respectable AMD Ryzen 3 CPU and 8GB of RAM, making it capable for routine tasks but may fall short in more demanding applications, and while its battery life and silent operation are appreciated, its smaller storage and less robust build quality limit its overall performance for general use. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 features a more powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and 16GB of RAM, offers a larger storage capacity and better overall build, which along with its superior heat management and higher quality screen, provides a much better experience for a variety of uses despite being less portable due to its larger size and heavier weight.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 provides superior gaming and 3D experiences primarily due to its Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics card and higher screen refresh rate, which are very important for smooth and visually detailed gaming performance. In contrast, the Acer Aspire 3 15, with its AMD Radeon 610M GPU and standard refresh rate, offers modest gaming capabilities, which, while adequate for casual play, won't deliver the same level of immersion or smoothness in graphics-heavy tasks.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 and the ASUS TUF Gaming A17 offer screens that meet basic needs with adequate resolution and brightness but don't stand out for exceptional clarity or color depth. Engineering and design professionals may find the color accuracy and range insufficient on these models since they lack the wide color gamuts necessary for precise color work. Gamers and those into 3D applications will likely be disappointed by the lower refresh rates, which don't support the smooth visuals typically desired in fast-paced games or high-frame-rate 3D modeling.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"There is one big question that needs an answer. Is the TUF Gaming A17 FA707 a better purchase than the ROG Strix G17 G713R (2022)? Well, it depends. Undoubtedly, the Strix is the more premium product. Arguably the biggest advantage it has over its TUF fellow is in regards to the display. ASUS TUF Gaming A17 A707’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio."
