If you prioritize saving money and need a laptop for everyday tasks like web browsing, word processing, and light entertainment, the Acer Aspire 3 15 is a satisfactory choice. However, if you're involved in demanding activities such as gaming, 3D modeling, or video editing, and are willing to invest more for higher performance, the ASUS ROG Strix G16, with its advanced graphics and faster processing abilities, would be a better fit despite being less portable and having shorter battery life compared to the Acer. The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, while adequate for basic tasks, may have limitations in processing power and memory, affecting multitasking and speed, and its screen quality, battery life, and portability are typically moderate, fitting everyday needs without excelling. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 offers a more powerful CPU and extra RAM for smooth performance in demanding applications, a high-quality screen for clearer visuals, and better heat management for sustained use, though it may be less portable and have a shorter battery life due to its gaming-oriented design.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) is very good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, while adequate for casual gaming due to its modest GPU and standard screen refresh rate, doesn't quite match up to the ASUS ROG Strix G16 which boasts a high-end GPU and a faster screen refresh rate for a smoother gaming experience. Although the CPU and screen quality of the Acer are decent for everyday tasks, the ASUS excels with a superior CPU and screen quality, enhancing overall performance and visual fidelity for demanding gaming and 3D applications.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering the Acer Aspire 3 15, the screen is adequate for general tasks due to its resolution and brightness, but it may not please users looking for a high level of detail or working outdoors. For engineering and design, the color accuracy is critical, and this laptop's screen doesn't cover a wide enough spectrum of colors to satisfy professionals in those fields. Meanwhile, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 has strong color representation and a brighter, sharper display that suits engineers and designers, but its lower refresh rate can disappoint gamers who need smooth motion for fast-paced games.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
