If you're on a budget, the Acer Aspire 3 is considerably more affordable and offers adequate performance for general use, with good battery life and a decent keyboard. However, if you need a more powerful laptop for 3D work, machine learning, or gaming, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 offers superior performance but at a higher cost and reduced battery life. The ASUS also has better build quality, advanced features such as a high refresh rate display and RGB keyboard, but it is heavier and less portable than the Acer. Therefore, choose the Acer for everyday tasks and the ASUS for high-performance needs. Give Feedback

Rtings

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."

Tom's Hardware

Andrew E. Freedman | August 2022
"The Asus ROG Strix G15, as the first in a line of "AMD Advantage"-branded notebooks, is a statement that yes, you can get a premium AMD gaming notebook. Maybe you can't have it all, but you can get pretty close. The ROG Strix G15's combination of the AMD Ryzen 5900HX and Radeon RX 6800M, as well as other technologies that take advantage of them, make a potent, thin gaming machine. Powerful Dolby Atmos speakers and long battery life when you aren't gaming are nice bonuses."
