Choosing between the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Apple MacBook Pro 16 will depend largely on your budget and computing needs. If cost is a top concern and your tasks are relatively light, like browsing the internet and using office applications, the Acer Aspire 3 15 could meet your needs and save you money. However, if you require high performance for tasks such as video editing, 3D modeling, or software development, and you value a higher quality display and longer battery life, investing in the MacBook Pro 16 could be worthwhile despite its higher price. Keep in mind that the MacBook also offers a premium build quality and ecosystem benefits if you're already using Apple products, while the Acer is more economical and may offer more flexibility with its Windows operating system. The Apple MacBook Pro 16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 offers adequate visuals for everyday tasks and professional work that doesn't demand premium color accuracy, but its lower resolution and brightness make it less suitable for engaging entertainment or precise design work. Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Apple MacBook Pro 16 2023: M2 Max challenges GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The new MacBook Pro 16 2023 with the M2 Max SoC is the most powerful laptop Apple has on sale right now. While we do not get the expected performance and efficiency improvements from completely new 3 nm chips, which we expected ahead of the launch, the 2023 model is still a solid update. The CPU of the M2 Max can be up to 20 % faster than the old model and we also see an advantage of 25-30 % for the GPU with 38 cores. However, both components also consume more power, so the efficiency did not change that much under maximum load."
