The Acer Aspire 1 is much less expensive, lighter, and more suitable for general use with its long battery life and fanless operation, making it good for daily tasks, browsing, and streaming. If cost is a major factor and the usage is mostly limited to basic tasks, the Aspire 1 would be sufficient, while the Stealth GS77 is tailored for performance-intensive tasks and gaming. The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 1 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 1 has limited capabilities due to its lower-end Intel Celeron N4500 processor, less RAM, and a basic TN screen, whereas the MSI Stealth GS77 boasts a powerful Intel i7-12700H processor, ample RAM, and a high-quality IPS display for superior general use performance.

The MSI Stealth GS77 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 1 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 1 falls short for gaming and 3D tasks due to its basic Intel Celeron integrated graphics and a screen refresh rate limited to 60Hz, which are inadequate for the high demands of modern games and 3D applications. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS77 excels in these areas with its high-end Nvidia RTX graphics card and a much higher screen refresh rate of 240Hz, providing a much smoother and more immersive experience.

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 1 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 1 is not well-suited for engineering and design due to its basic Intel Celeron processor, minimal RAM, and integrated graphics which struggle with complex tasks and rendering; additionally, its screen quality is limited by a TN panel with lower color coverage. In contrast, the MSI Stealth GS77 excels in these areas with a high-performance Intel i7 processor, substantial RAM, powerful Nvidia RTX GPU, and a high-quality IPS display, making it ideal for demanding engineering software and detailed design work, although it is less portable and has a more noticeable operating noise due to its advanced cooling system.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 1 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize a clear and vibrant display for tasks like browsing, editing documents, or watching videos, the MSI Stealth GS77 with its sharper image and better brightness will be a superior choice over the Acer Aspire 1. However, if your work involves engineering, CAD, or any design-related activities requiring accurate color representation, the MSI's wider color gamuts will provide the fidelity you need, whereas the Acer's display falls short. On the other hand, if you're a gamer or into 3D modeling where fluid motion is key, the MSI's lower refresh rate won't be as suitable as other laptops specifically tailored for those high-refresh demands.

"There are no surprises and nothing's extraordinary here but this laptop's price. For those in need of an inexpensive Windows laptop for undemanding tasks, though, the Acer Aspire 1 offers just enough to get the basics done and a larger screen to do them on."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
