When choosing between the Acer Aspire 1 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i, consider your needs and budget. The Acer Aspire 1 is less expensive and has a fanless operation for silent use, making it suitable for general tasks like browsing and office applications. However, it has less storage, lower performance, and a less vibrant screen. On the other hand, the IdeaPad Pro 5i offers significantly higher performance, which makes it suited for engineering, 3D rendering, machine learning, and even gaming due to its more powerful processor and graphics. It also has a better screen with higher resolution, color accuracy, and refresh rate, but this means it's also generally more expensive. Both laptops have similar battery life and portability, but the IdeaPad Pro 5i also comes with a backlit keyboard and additional features like Thunderbolt ports and a fingerprint reader. CNET

Joshua Goldman | May 2020
"There are no surprises and nothing's extraordinary here but this laptop's price. For those in need of an inexpensive Windows laptop for undemanding tasks, though, the Acer Aspire 1 offers just enough to get the basics done and a larger screen to do them on."

Tom's Hardware

Brandon Hill | January 2024
"Lenovo’s IdeaPad Pro 5i represents an impressive opening salvo for Meteor Lake in the ultraportable space against familiar foes from AMD and Apple. Not only does the Core Ultra 5 125H processor provide good performance across the board, but battery life remains a strong point against the Acer Swift Edge 16 with its AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor. It can’t quite match the endurance of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, but the gap is shrinking."
