If you're looking for excellent overall sound quality with the convenience of both wired and wireless usage, and if long battery life tops your priority list, the Marshall Major IV headphones are a great choice, especially considering their more accessible price compared to the Sony WF1000XM5. However, the Sony WF1000XM5 earbuds provide superior portability, better noise isolation, and features such as active noise cancelling, LDAC codec (for high-quality audio), and a more feature-rich app experience, including an equalizer and audio control customization. The Sony also has a slight edge in soundstage and comfort. Choose the Marshall for long, flexible listening sessions and if budget is a concern, or the Sony if you require top-tier noise isolation, travel convenience, and more advanced wireless features. Sound Guys

Jasper Lastoria | September 2023
"The Marshall Major IV shares quite a bit in common with its predecessor, but a key upgrade appears to be softer ear cushions. They make upgrading worth it. As a set of basic wired or wireless headphones the Major IV ticks most boxes by remaining easy to use, and fairly comfortable (at least, as on-ear headphones go)."

Sound Guys

Harley Maranan | July 2023
"The Sony WF-1000XM5 is among the best noise canceling earbuds currently on the market, and they aren’t cheap. These earbuds aren’t the best choice for budget-conscious listeners. But if you prioritize active noise cancelation, sound quality, and extensive software support, the WF-1000XM5 is worth its premium price tag."
