The Etymotic ER4XR excels in noise isolation, offering a more immersive experience for focused listening environments and travel. However, they're wired and may not be as convenient as wireless options during exercise. In contrast, the JBL Live Pro 2 is a more budget-friendly choice, providing a good balance for calls and meetings, and is suitable for a wide range of activities, including exercise, given its wireless design and sweatproof feature. The JBL earbuds also support active noise cancelling and have a longer battery life. If portability and convenience for varied use are your priorities, JBL Live Pro 2 would be a better fit, whereas if you prioritize sound isolation and don't mind a wired connection, the Etymotic ER4XR would be the way to go. "The Etymotic ER4XRs' top qualities are the detail and definition of the midrange, rewarding the closest listening. While the soundstage is large rather than gigantic, the excellent separation and spatial precision mean you can dive deep into music just as much as when wearing a pair of full-size open-backed headphones."
"The JBL Live Pro 2 TWS occupy an interesting space in the wireless earbuds market. They’re a step up from cheap wireless earbuds and allow you to access better sound quality without having to make the jump to more premium options from the likes of Bose, Sony and Sennheiser. They’re an entertaining listen, easy to use and manage to pack in a lot of useful features. We think they’re well worth a listen."
