If the lower price of the Etymotic ER2SE is attractive and you're looking for in-ear monitors with a reputation for detailed sound and noise isolation, they may suit you for environments where you want to block out ambient noise. However, they have deep insertion which can be uncomfortable for some users. On the other hand, the Rode NTH-100 headphones are over-ear, which can be more comfortable for extended use and provide a different sound experience. They may be better for home use where isolation isn't as crucial, but they will likely have a more spacious soundstage which enhances the listening experience for movies and gaming. If you require a microphone for calls, ensure the selected model includes one, as some earbuds and headphones may not. Give Feedback

Sound Guys

Lily Katz | April 2022
"Etymotic isn’t playing around: it takes audio seriously and has mastered the art of the noise-isolation earphone. Sure, the fit of the earbuds looks silly but it’s a signature Etymotic thing and could be considered charming by some. If you’re looking for best-in-class audio for a realistic price, the ER2SE is it."

"The NTH-100M is a closed-back headset aimed at professional audiophiles—streamers, podcasters and content creators included—looking for masterful audio and a detachable 'broadcast-grade' microphone."
