Since the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are much more expensive compared to the Philips SHP9500, consider that the Bose earbuds offer active noise cancellation, which is excellent for blocking out ambient noise, and they provide a secure wireless experience ideal for active use or commuting. Conversely, the Philips SHP9500 are over-ear, open-back headphones that allow for a more natural soundstage and are generally preferred for home use where isolation is not a requirement. These are wired, which means you won't have to charge them, but that also limits your mobility compared to the Bose wireless earbuds. If you need noise isolation or wireless convenience, go for the Bose, but if sound quality in a quiet environment is your priority and you're okay with a wire, the Philips may be a better value. "Bose put the time in to fix the major issues with the previous earbuds, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are very befitting of its price point. While you might be tempted to save a few bucks and go with the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II on sale, fight the urge. There are enough upgrades here to justify the newer model."
