If you highly value sound quality, comfort, and noise isolation, alongside features like active noise cancelling and sweat-resistance, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are the better choice. They offer excellent noise isolation, making them ideal for air travel and use in noisy environments, but they come at a premium price. However, if you're more budget-conscious and still want decent sound and build quality with a medium level of noise isolation suitable for less demanding environments, the Moondrop Nekocake is much less expensive. While they lack active noise cancelling, they do provide basic features and are suitable for casual listening and calls. Keep in mind that the Bose earbuds also come with extra features like app equalizer customization, a longer battery life, and wireless charging capabilities, which the Moondrop Nekocake does not have. "Bose put the time in to fix the major issues with the previous earbuds, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are very befitting of its price point. While you might be tempted to save a few bucks and go with the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II on sale, fight the urge. There are enough upgrades here to justify the newer model."
"What sets the Nekocake apart from its competition at this price point is the Moondrop Link app that allows the user to change the tonal balance of the Nekocake. This makes sure that it’s versatile enough to suit different sonic preferences while allowing some customization of controls."
