The Audio Technica M50x are over-ear, closed-back headphones well-suited for studio work or enjoying music, given their high overall sound quality. They're a midrange-priced, wired solution with a sturdy build, good comfort, and provide passive noise isolation. However, they're not ideal for calls or meetings and lack wireless capability and active noise cancelling. In contrast, the Thieaudio Monarch Mk II earbuds deliver superior sound for music enthusiasts, with higher sound quality and soundstage. Although significantly more expensive, they offer greater immersion for TV and video without any latency issues. These earbuds also have a detachable cable but are less convenient for exercise and are not optimized for calls or gaming. Both models are not sweatproof or dustproof, making either less suited for outdoor activities. Give Feedback

"Good sound is timeless. It doesn’t matter that a number of years have passed since the ATH-M50x came out because it still works well. Since this wired headset doesn’t rely on batteries or Bluetooth technology, it’s bound to outlast its wireless counterparts. The no-nonsense performance, fit, and comfort of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x make it worth picking up."
"No other earphone I have listened to in the past 12 months has given me as much joy as the Thieaduio Monarch MKII. One of those IEMs will make you question where we can go from here. The sound is jaw-dropping, leaving you wanting more and more. It makes you want to run through your entire music library and reevaluate. It makes you not feel bad about paying full price for them, especially in a hobby where buyers' remorse is genuine. For me, it's top tier, rivaled by a few but not surpassed."
