stemmed earbuds with similar overall sound quality, but their strengths differ. The ATH-TWX7 excels in calls and meetings with excellent microphone quality and a low latency mode, making them suitable for gaming or TV as well. They also have active noise cancelling, which is ideal for noisy environments and air travel. The JBL Live Flex 3 earbuds come with a smart charging case featuring an LED touch display for controls, which is a unique feature for convenience. However, they have poor scores for calls, meetings, gaming, TV, and podcasts, making them less versatile for those activities. Both are sweatproof and support the LDAC codec, but the JBL Live Flex 3 offers a longer battery life and wireless charging, which may be more important for extended use during exercise and throughout the day. Engadget

Billy Steele | January 2024
"There’s plenty to like about the ATH-TWX7. A robust set of features brings a lot of convenience to your day. But a few of those tools could still use some fine-tuning and the lack of automatic pausing in 2024 is a head scratcher. Still, the audio is mostly good, and transparency mode is better than most. Add in the solid call quality and the in-app voice test and the ATH-TWX7 are a worthy consideration, especially at this price. Too bad it falls short of being a more complete package some of the competition offers for a slightly larger investment."
