If you frequently make calls, need wireless convenience, and appreciate features like sweat resistance and active noise cancelling for various environments, the Audio Technica ATH-TWX7 would be a better fit, especially if you're looking to save money. On the other hand, if you prioritize top-tier sound quality for music listening in quiet spaces and don't mind the need for an amplifier and the lack of wireless capability, the HifiMan Arya Stealth headphones might be worth the higher cost despite their open-back design offering less noise isolation and being less suitable for outdoor or exercise use. "There’s plenty to like about the ATH-TWX7. A robust set of features brings a lot of convenience to your day. But a few of those tools could still use some fine-tuning and the lack of automatic pausing in 2024 is a head scratcher. Still, the audio is mostly good, and transparency mode is better than most. Add in the solid call quality and the in-app voice test and the ATH-TWX7 are a worthy consideration, especially at this price. Too bad it falls short of being a more complete package some of the competition offers for a slightly larger investment."
"The Arya can easily be end-game headphones for 99% of consumers, satisfying most audio desires. Priced well above USD$1000, the Arya are obviously and gloriously not for the mass market consumer; they are designed and built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts – especially those who view their expenses on this level of gear as investments."
