The Samsung Q60B is a midrange LCD TV that offers a good overall picture quality, particularly in bright rooms, making it suitable for well-lit environments. However, its performance in gaming is poor, and it might not be the best choice if you are an avid gamer. Sports content looks fair on the screen, but there might be better options available for watching fast-paced sports. The TV performs fairly well in dark rooms but again, there are other models that could perform better in this aspect. It has excellent colors right out of the box, which is great for watching cartoons and animations that can look very good on this TV. The sound quality is poor, so you might consider a separate sound system for better audio. The Samsung Q60B has three HDMI ports and supports HDR content, but lacks features like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos which could enhance the viewing experience for movies and series. It also has a VA panel type which is known for good contrast, and it's a decent choice if you plan to use the TV as a monitor. Give Feedback

Cartoons & Animaton:
4.5
PerfectRec’s cartoons & animation score places great importance on several crucial aspects of TV picture quality, such as color gamut, color volume, brightness, and out-of-the-box color accuracy, in addition to good gray uniformity and contrast, to ensure that you can fully enjoy your favorite animated content. Cartoons and animation are characterized by vibrant and colorful imagery, however, accurately displaying this type of content can pose a challenge for TVs, particularly during scenes with complex lighting or subtle color variations.
News, Talk & Reality TV:
4.3
PerfectRec’s news, talk, & other TV score prioritizes upscaling, brightness, contrast, out of the box color accuracy, and screen uniformity. This is because almost all news and talk shows are created in Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) with lower resolutions, such as 720P and 1080P. The purpose of this prioritization is to ensure that lower resolution content looks good on a 4K display and to help you identify which TV will perform best when watching live TV via Cable, Satellite, or Antenna.
Bright Room:
4.1
The Samsung Q60B is suitable for bright rooms because it has very good SDR brightness, which ensures that the picture remains visible even under strong ambient light. Additionally, its reflections handling is fair, which means that while some glare may be visible, it does not significantly degrade the viewing experience.
Overall Picture:
4.1
The Samsung Q60B boasts strong contrast and excellent black uniformity which contribute to deep blacks and a good sense of depth, enhancing the overall picture quality. Its out-of-the-box colors are rated excellent, ensuring a vibrant and accurate image without the need for immediate calibration.
Movies & TV shows:
3.7
PerfectRec’s movies & cinematic TV score takes into account the most important TV features for cinematic content. Our score considers the following factors:color gamut, color volume, out-of-the-box color accuracy, local dimming and black uniformity. We also factor in gray uniformity and viewing angles to a lesser degree.
Sports:
3.5
The Samsung Q60B has fair motion processing, which may not handle fast-paced action in sports as smoothly as TVs with better motion performance. Additionally, its handling of reflections is also rated fair, meaning it might struggle with glare during daytime viewing, which could be distracting during sports events.

CNET

David Katzmaier | June 2022
"Samsung's 2022 QLED workhorse shines in bright rooms and with HDR. The Samsung Q60B stands out from the slew of entry-level TVs with an ultra-thin frame, a skinny profile from the side and even narrow stand legs. The Q60B is a very good bright-room TV, and my subjective impression of its ample light output was proven by measurements."
