On the other hand, the Sony X85J LCD is an upper midrange TV that is usually less expensive and has better gaming performance and motion processing, making it suitable for sports and games. Though its contrast and dark room performance are weaker, so it may not offer as deep blacks as the LG A2. The LG A2 OLED provides a perfect contrast ratio and black uniformity, superior for movies and cinematic content especially in dark scenes, along with excellent local dimming to enhance these features. In contrast, the Sony X85J LCD has lesser contrast and no local dimming, reducing its ability to display deep blacks, and despite good colors out of the box, the viewing experience for films is not as immersive.

Images had the deep blacks and detailed shadows typical of the best 4K TVs, while colors looked both fully saturated and clean.
