The Amazon Omni QLED TV is priced in the lower midrange segment and offers a good overall picture quality. For gaming, its performance is fair but not exceptional, and the same can be said for watching sports content. This TV is competent in dark rooms and delivers a good movie and series watching experience, with very good performance for cartoons and animation. However, its bright room performance is only fair, which may be a concern if the TV is to be used in well-lit spaces. Contrast is excellent, and the color representation out of the box is very good, alongside a good color gamut. The response time and input lag are excellent, making this TV suitable for responsive gaming and use as a monitor. The sound quality is excellent, but note that it does not have great speakers built-in, so for the best audio experience, external solutions are advisable. The TV supports popular HDR formats including HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG, but its local dimming, gray and black uniformity are fair, which could affect the depth of blacks and evenness of the screen during viewing. With 4 HDMI ports, it's well-equipped for connecting multiple devices. Keep in mind that while it functions fairly well as a monitor, its bright room performance and reflection handling might not be ideal for daytime use in a bright office environment. Give Feedback

Ratings by Category

Cartoons & Animaton:
4.5
The Amazon Omni QLED TV is excellent for watching cartoons and animation due to its very good color gamut, which means it can display a wide range of colors vividly. Additionally, the colors out of the box are good, indicating that the TV displays accurate colors without the need for calibration, enhancing the visual experience right away.
Movies & TV shows:
4.3
The Amazon Omni QLED TV is excellent for movies and cinematic TV due to its high contrast and effective local dimming, which create deep blacks and distinguishable dark scenes. Additionally, its very good color volume ensures a wide range of colors, enhancing the viewing experience for colorful content.
News, Talk & Reality TV:
4.3
The Amazon Omni QLED is suitable for news and TV programs due to its good upscaling of lower resolution content and its initial color accuracy which ensures that the content appears vibrant and clear even when viewed out of the box. While this TV also has good SDR brightness, making it capable of handling most well-lit rooms, the modest local dimming and contrast performance may affect its ability to portray deep blacks in dark scenes.
Overall Picture:
4.3
The Amazon Omni QLED TV boasts excellent contrast and black uniformity, ensuring deep blacks and a strong overall picture in both dark and bright scenes. The TV also impresses with vibrant colors straight out of the box, alongside a wide color gamut and substantial color volume, making images appear vivid and true to life.
Bright Room:
3.9
The Amazon Omni QLED is considered fair for watching TV in a bright room primarily because, although it has good SDR brightness, which would typically help maintain picture quality in well-lit environments, its ability to handle reflections is only rated as fair, meaning that it might struggle with direct light or reflections from windows or lamps. Additionally, while its HDR brightness is fair, which is sufficient for some bright room viewing, it won't be as vibrant or impactful as TVs with higher HDR brightness capabilities, especially under strong ambient light.
Gaming:
3.4
PerfectRec’s gaming score measures a TV's performance when it comes to playing video games. It is based on several factors that can significantly impact the quality of the gaming experience, including screen response time, input lag, and refresh rate. Screen response time is a critical factor that determines how quickly the TV can transition from one color to the next, while input lag measures the delay between the gaming console output and the TV display. Refresh rate refers to the number of times per second that the TV displays a new frame, which can impact the smoothness of the gaming experience. The gaming score also takes into account two other features: local dimming in gaming mode, which can enhance contrast and picture quality, and black frame insertion, which can reduce screen brightness and create a smoother gaming experience.
Sports:
3.1
The Amazon Omni QLED is rated as having a fair response time and fair reflections handling, which indicates that while it's capable of reducing blur in fast-moving sports scenes and handling some reflections, it might struggle in very bright rooms and with very fast-paced action. Its gray uniformity is only somewhat important for sports; therefore, while imperfections might be visible, they should not greatly affect the viewing experience.

Tech Advisor

Jim Martin | April 2023
"This really is a TV designed for the streaming generation ... And it’s good to see support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision because it means more of the content you stream will be available in HDR. Overall, the Omni QLED is an impressive TV. It’s pretty bright, has good contrast and – thanks to those quantum dots – vibrant colours."
