The HP Omen 17 is a midrange laptop that offers solid performance, thanks to its Intel i7 processor and Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, making it well-suited for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks. With a 17.3-inch IPS display providing a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a high refresh rate, it is designed to deliver a smooth visual experience. The device has a substantial storage capacity and a decent amount of RAM, which contributes to its overall strong performance. However, the tradeoffs include a significant weight and a larger physical size, which may affect its portability. It has an array of ports, including Thunderbolt, USB-C, HDMI, and Ethernet, enhancing its connectivity. The backlit keyboard and availability of multiple storage and RAM slots add to its versatility. While it may not be the best option for on-the-go use due to its weight and size, the HP Omen 17 is an excellent choice for users looking for a laptop that can handle demanding applications and provide a high-quality gaming experience. NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | September 2022
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
