The HP Omen 17 is an upper midrange gaming laptop with a large 17.3-inch display, robust Intel i9 processor, and Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, making it highly suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering applications. It comes with ample storage and a significant amount of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and performance. The IPS panel provides good screen colors with high brightness and a decent contrast ratio. However, due to its size, weight, and gaming laptop appearance, it is less portable compared to smaller laptops. It also features a high refresh rate screen, which is great for gaming and fast-motion activities. Additionally, it comes with a backlit keyboard and a number of modern ports including USB-C with charging support and Thunderbolt. Battery life is fair, so you may need to stay close to a power source during extended use. Overall, if you need high performance for demanding tasks and do not prioritize portability, the HP Omen 17 is a strong candidate. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 17 excels in engineering and design due to its powerful Intel i9 processor and generous RAM, which allow for smooth multitasking and handling of complex software applications. Its high-end Nvidia RTX GPU and IPS screen with high resolution and color accuracy contribute to detailed and vivid visual renderings, essential for design work.

NotebookCheck

Marc Herter | September 2022
"The HP Omen 17 (2022) gaming laptop has a stylish case and hardware with lots of potential. The HP Omen 17 is a fairly unobtrusive gaming laptop. A material combination of plastic and metal gives the case a high stability and a quality surface feel. The unspectacular design is pleasing and is hardly indicative of the laptop's high performance potential. The Intel Core i7-12700H in particular is able to perform well once again. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is also strong in the gaming notebook. Demanding games run smoothly in Full HD resolution. The HP Omen 17 is a good gaming laptop that delivers partly excellent performance. But even at this performance level, cheaper alternatives are available."
