The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is good for general use, while the HP 250 G10 is only fair.
The HP 250 G10, with its ample RAM and fair keyboard, may handle multitasking well, but its less-vivid TN screen and modest CPU might not be ideal for demanding tasks, though it has a good portability factor. Meanwhile, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offers better screen quality and slightly longer battery life, backed up by a robust CPU and higher storage capacity, and it excels in heat management, but it provides half the RAM of the HP, which could affect performance with numerous open applications or data-intensive tasks.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 has a better screen than the HP 250 G10 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
Based on your needs, the HP 250 G10 may fall short in visual clarity and vibrancy for all purposes due to its lower-quality display, which can be particularly noticeable in color-sensitive tasks like engineering and design, and less immersive when gaming. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, while offering improved screen quality more suitable for everyday tasks and design work, thanks to better resolution and brightness, still might not provide the high refresh rates required for smooth 3D experiences that gamers often seek. Therefore, for detailed, color-accurate work and enjoyable gaming, another laptop with a higher-quality screen and specifications that align with these specific requirements might be more appropriate.

How the HP 250 G10 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The HP 250 G10 is a decent budget device that surprises us with its high CPU frequencies under load. Still, our configuration has a Core i5-1335U which doesn’t require significant cooling, if choose a 28W P-series processor, maybe the situation with the clocks could be different. If you want to play some casual game after work, a memory in dual-channel is a must because it increases greatly the iGPU performance."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
