The HP 17" Laptop comes at a lower price than the MSI Prestige 15, making it a budget-friendly option. Its larger 17-inch screen provides a more spacious display for general use, and it includes a number pad which can be useful for data entry. On the downside, it is heavier, which might not be ideal if you value portability. In contrast, the MSI Prestige 15, while more expensive, offers superior graphics performance with its dedicated Nvidia GPU, making it better suited for 3D work, machine learning tasks, and gaming. It also has a longer battery life and a higher portability score, beneficial if you're frequently on the move. Both laptops have the same amount of RAM and storage, and they run on Windows 11 Home. Consider your balance between budget, screen size, performance demands, and mobility when making your choice. Give Feedback

The MSI Prestige 15 has a better screen than the HP 17" Laptop for general use, engineering and design, and software development.
The HP 17" laptop offers sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks and productivity work, but it may not meet the higher expectations for sharp, vibrant visuals in engineering applications or the fast-paced clarity needed in gaming. The MSI Prestige 15, with its superior color accuracy and wider color gamuts, delivers a more immersive experience for professionals in engineering and design who require precise color representation for their work. However, for avid gamers and those into 3D applications, both laptops fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which can compromise the smoothness and responsiveness demanded by these use cases.

How the HP 17" Laptop and the MSI Prestige 15 compare to other laptops
"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."
"The MSI Prestige 15 offers a dazzling 4K image quality, and solid performance. The MSI Prestige 15 appears to consistently implement the guiding principle of throttling the solid and efficient hardware to such an extent that content creation succeeds perfectly. Performance-hungry tasks, on the other hand, are slowed down a little by the reduced power consumption. Conversely, this means that the case remains relatively cool and the dual fan subdued. The battery life also benefits somewhat. So the losses aren't really dramatic because full performance is still available for short bursts."
