Choosing between the HP 17" and MSI Cyborg 15 laptops depends on your needs. If you prioritize a larger screen and better value for general tasks like web browsing and office programs, the HP's 17-inch display may be appealing. Although it is less portable due to its size and heavier weight, it has a longer battery life for extended use on the go. On the other hand, the MSI Cyborg 15, with its advanced graphics capabilities, is better suited for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning. It also offers a higher refresh rate for smoother visuals and is slightly lighter, making it easier to carry, despite having a shorter battery life compared to the HP. In summary, for everyday use and better portability, the HP might suit you well, while for high-performance tasks, especially gaming, the MSI will serve you better, albeit at a higher price. The MSI Cyborg 15 has a better screen than the HP 17" Laptop for gaming and AI, and software development.
For general use, the HP 17" Laptop provides a balance of screen size and clarity that's suitable for everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos, but its moderate resolution and brightness may not stand out for users seeking a premium visual experience. When it comes to engineering and design, the laptop's screen covers basic requirements but professionals seeking precise color work may find its lack of wide color gamut coverage limiting. In the realm of gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the HP's lower refresh rate could lead to less fluid visuals, hence it may not satisfy gamers or professionals in fields that rely on high frame rates.

How the HP 17" Laptop and the MSI Cyborg 15 compare to other laptops
"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."
"The focus of the MSI Cyborg 15 lies on a compromise of performance, mobility, and power consumption. Due to the reduced performance settings, the CPU and GPU perform below their capabilities. Nonetheless, their computing power is still sufficient for FHD gaming at high to maximum settings even then. The power consumption, which is low for a gaming laptop, can be translated into a good battery life. Realistic values of 7 to 8 h are still possible, despite the relatively small battery capacity of 53.5 Wh. Unfortunately the USB-C port doesn't offer any support for Power Delivery, which would be a sensible feature in the case of the Cyborg."
