If you prioritize a larger screen and slightly better performance for general use and engineering tasks, the HP 17" Laptop is a solid choice but is less portable and has a lower battery life. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro offers a higher resolution touchscreen display with better color accuracy for creative work, is more portable with a longer battery life, and has a backlit keyboard. However, it's usually more expensive than the HP model. Neither laptop is ideal for intensive gaming, but both can handle general tasks and light engineering work. Give Feedback

PCMag

Francisco Lahoz | November 2022
"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | October 2021
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
