The HP 17" Laptop, with a larger screen and higher RAM, is better suited for tasks requiring more processing power like engineering software, while its heft may make it less portable. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is slightly more expensive, but also more portable, with a smaller screen and less RAM, making it a better fit for general use and portability, though its slightly lower RAM may limit performance in intensive tasks. Both have similar storage capacity and touchscreens are available only on the Lenovo, which may benefit users preferring interactive input. Give Feedback

The HP 17" Laptop has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a better screen for content creation.
If you prioritize a larger screen for comfortable multitasking and viewing documents, the HP 17" Laptop provides ample space, although it doesn't offer the best clarity or brightness for finer details. For engineering and design work, neither laptop offers the wide color range necessary to ensure accurate color rendition for professional multimedia work. When it comes to gaming or 3D applications, both laptops have screen attributes that may lead to less smooth visuals, as they lack the high refresh rates required for fluid motion and rapid on-screen changes.

How the HP 17" Laptop and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
