When deciding between the HP 15" Laptop and the MSI GF63 Thin, consider how you'll use the device. The HP is likely more versatile for general use; it may offer a balance of cost, battery life, and functionality. The MSI, being part of the 'Thin' series, is targeted towards gamers and may provide higher performance for graphics-intensive tasks at the expense of battery life and possibly being more expensive. It's also designed to be more portable than typical gaming laptops. So, if gaming or high-performance tasks are your priority and you're okay with a higher price, the MSI could be beneficial. However, for everyday tasks, the HP might be more economical and offer sufficient performance. Give Feedback

The HP 15" Laptop has a better screen than the MSI GF63 Thin for engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The HP and MSI laptops have fair screen quality for general use due to adequate resolution and brightness, but they may not have the premium panel types that offer better viewing angles and color reproduction. For engineering and design, their screens provide sufficient detail but lack extensive color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are crucial for accurate color work. Regarding gaming and 3D applications, both laptops fall short as they do not feature high refresh rates that are essential for smooth motion, and their resolution and panel type, while acceptable, are not tailored for the high-performance visuals these tasks often require.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers MSI GF63 Thin to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the HP 15" Laptop is poor.
The HP 15" Laptop is equipped with an integrated Intel UHD Graphics chip that provides moderate performance for gaming and 3D applications, whereas the MSI GF63 Thin, while not specified in the given information, likely has a dedicated GPU which would typically offer better rendering capabilities for such tasks; however, both have screens limited to 60Hz refresh rates, restricting the potential for smoother gameplay that higher refresh rates would provide. The CPU and screen quality are also factors, but they are secondary to GPU performance and screen refresh rate when considering gaming and 3D applications.

The HP 15" Laptop and MSI GF63 Thin are both only fair for engineering and design.
The HP 15" laptop with its lower-end CPU and integrated GPU is less suited for demanding engineering and design tasks than the MSI GF63, which has a more capable CPU and dedicated GPU; however, the MSI might be less portable and has lower screen color accuracy which is essential for design work. Both have similar RAM and screen quality but differentiating factors like the stronger processing capabilities of the MSI GF63 make it better for performance-intensive applications, while the HP 15" might appeal for more general use and tasks that are less resource-heavy.

How the HP 15" Laptop and the MSI GF63 Thin compare to other laptops
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
