The HP 15" Laptop is often significantly less expensive than the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 but offers more basic performance with an older processor and lower-resolution screen without touchscreen capabilities. The Surface Laptop Go 3 is pricier but includes a newer processor, better graphics capabilities, higher screen resolution with a touchscreen, and a more portable design. For those on a budget or needing a larger screen and a number pad, the HP might suit well. Conversely, better performance and higher portability make the Surface Laptop Go 3 suitable for more demanding tasks and on-the-go use. It also has a longer battery life and better build and speaker quality. Give Feedback

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 is good for general use, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The HP 15" Laptop has a larger screen with a regular resolution which is comfortable for general use, but its processor and graphics are less powerful, making it less suitable for CPU-intensive tasks compared to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, which boasts a more powerful processor, better screen brightness, and higher color accuracy, making it more ideal for tasks that require better visual performance, although it has a smaller screen, which may not be as comfortable for extended use or multitasking.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 and HP 15" Laptop are both only fair for engineering and design, though the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 is somewhat better.
The HP 15" Laptop, with its less robust Intel i3 processor and basic integrated graphics, is less suitable for demanding engineering and design tasks, although it offers a larger screen and a full-size keyboard that can be advantageous for such activities. In contrast, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, while excelling in portability with its lighter build and higher screen quality for sharp imagery, is also limited in performance by a modest Intel i5 processor and integrated graphics, which may not handle intensive tasks as efficiently as specialized engineering laptops would.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering screen quality, the HP 15" Laptop offers a balance suitable for everyday tasks, but it may not provide the sharpness or brightness desired for more demanding visual work. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 stands out with higher resolution and better color accuracy, making it a better fit for engineering and design where precision is key. However, both laptops lack the high refresh rate needed for smooth 3D rendering and gaming, which could lead to less fluid visuals in those areas.

The HP 15" Laptop, with its Intel UHD Graphics and standard 60Hz screen refresh rate, offers modest performance for gaming and 3D applications, which may not be sufficient for high-end gaming experiences. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 has the Intel Iris Xe graphics, which are a little more capable, but similarly features a 60Hz screen refresh rate, limiting its ability to render fast-paced games smoothly. Both laptops have graphics solutions that prioritize efficiency and basic functionality over power, reflecting their adequacy for casual rather than competitive or intensive gaming scenarios.

How the HP 15" Laptop and the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 compare to other laptops
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
"When it comes to affordably priced laptops, the numbers after the dollar sign are crucially important—more so than in any other price category. By increasing the starting price of its Laptop Go line by $200 and not changing much else, Microsoft irrevocably altered the calculus surrounding the decision of whether to buy the Surface Laptop Go 3. Sure, it has a newer processor and longer battery life, but don’t think for a second you’re not paying dearly for that extra RAM and SSD capacity at that new price."
