The Gigabyte Aorus 15X typically costs less and offers an Intel i9 processor with an Nvidia RTX 4070, providing excellent performance for engineering and general use, plus a higher refresh rate display suitable for fast-paced gaming. It's lighter and has a smaller screen, making it more portable. Meanwhile, the MSI Raider GE76 has a larger display and superior RAM, enhancing multitasking and high-end gaming experiences with an RTX 3080 Ti GPU, but it's heavier and usually costs more. Therefore, if budget and portability are priorities with reliable engineering performance, consider the Gigabyte; if ultimate performance, especially for gaming and multitasking is the goal and cost is less of a factor, the MSI Raider could be the better choice. The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the Gigabyte Aorus 15X for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop screen that is bright and has a high resolution will provide clear and vibrant images, making both the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and MSI Raider GE76 suitable due to their high-quality panels. Engineers and designers require precise color representation for their work, which is delivered by large color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB found in both laptops' displays. However, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D applications as they lack high refresh rates which are crucial for smooth visuals and fast-paced action.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and the MSI Raider GE76 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
