If performance for intensive tasks like engineering, 3D rendering, or gaming is a priority and you are okay with a heavier and bulkier laptop with shorter battery life, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X with its high-end processor and superior graphics card is better equipped for these demands. However, if you prioritize a lighter, more portable laptop with longer battery life for general use or less demanding tasks and are comfortable with good but less powerful performance, the LG Ultra 16 is a more cost-effective and suitable option. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for engineering and design, while the LG Ultra 16 is good.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is very good for engineering and design due to its high-end Intel CPU and advanced Nvidia GPU, which provide powerful performance for demanding applications, coupled with a high-quality screen. In contrast, the LG Ultra 16, while still good for these tasks, offers more modest performance with its AMD CPU and integrated graphics, but gains an edge in portability and screen aspect ratio, which is beneficial for reading documents and browsing.

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
If you prioritize a beautiful, sharp display for everyday tasks, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X's high resolution and brightness may be a better fit. The LG Ultra 16's screen, while not as vibrant or bright, offers a balanced experience for engineers and designers who need satisfactory color accuracy but don't demand top-tier visuals. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, the Aorus 15X falls short due to its lower refresh rate, which makes it less suitable for fast-paced visuals compared to other laptops with higher refresh rates.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
