The Gigabyte Aorus 15X generally costs less and is more geared towards gaming and engineering, with a high-performance processor and powerful graphics card, making it suitable for intensive computational tasks and gaming. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life. In contrast, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 is pricier but offers superior build quality, better screen resolution with touchscreen capabilities, and is more portable due to its lighter weight. It's ideal for business professionals seeking premium features like a great keyboard and screen, but its slightly lower performance might not be suitable for the most demanding engineering or 3D work. How the Gigabyte Aorus 15X and the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
